Upon completing the work with the current mask, GrdUtil.exe will ask to confirm its saving if the changes to the mask have not been saved.

The asterisk after the mask name in the header of GrdUtil.exe main window indicates that the mask has been changed and requires saving before closing:

To save the mask being edited into a database, execute command Database | Save mask into database in the menu.

  1. If the mask has been previously saved into the database and only the contents of its fields is currently being edited without changing its structure, the saving will occur right after executing command Database | Save mask into database without a confirmation dialog.
  2. If the mask has not been previously saved into the database, Save template into database dialog box containing Name and Version entry fields will appear on the screen. The former serves for naming the mask (DefaultMaskName is given by default) and the latter – for setting the mask’s version (1.0 by default).

Clicking [OK] saves the mask into database. The saved mask will appear in the list of templates in Masks tab.

The name and the version of the saved mask as well as indication that the mask was saved into database will appear in the header of GrdUtil.exe main window:

The name and the version of the saved mask will also appear in the search criteria section (Database tools window).
