Guardant Net server can run not only as an ordinary window application, but also as Windows 7/2008/Vista /2003/XP/ 2000.
The advantages of this Service is that it is started by the operating system when the latter is loaded, and to start the Service no logging in computer is required, while the user gets access to Windows special Service control facilities.
Starting GN Service
To launch and start a Service you should run Guardant Net server with /s option: GrdSrv.exe /s
This operation needs to be executed only once. As soon as Guardant Net server is successfully launched, the protected applications will get access to Guardant Net dongles. The Service will be launched automatically each time when the operating system is started.
Starting GN Service
You can temporarily suspend Guardant Net Service. To do this, you should select Control Panel|Administrative Tools|Services and right-click on Guardant Net service item. In the popped out menu you should choose Stop item. The Service will remain installed in the system, but will no longer process queries sent to Guardant Net dongles. To resume the running you should start the Service from ‘Control Panel’ or use GrdSrv.exe /s command.
Important information
A service stop does not mean that it will be released from the list of services, i.e., when a computer is restarted, the Guardant Net service will be reloaded.
Removing GN Service from the System
To disable Guardant Net Service you should run server with /r option: GrdSrv.exe /r
Command line options
The Guardant Net service supports the following command line options:
GrdSrv.exe /i [q] | Installs Guardant Net service. Interaction with the desktop is disabled |
GrdSrv.exe /s [q] | Starts the service, initially installing it, if it had not been previously installed |
GrdSrv.exe /e [q] | Stops Guardant Net service |
GrdSrv.exe /r [q] (или GrdSrv.exe /u) | Stops and deletes Guardant Net service |
GrdSrv.exe /? | Short help |
An additional option /q disables the diagnostic messages displayed. Error codes are placed into LASTERROR.
