Program number verification:

/UN[=[0x]n]

Dongle type:

Any

Parameter value:

0<=n<=255

Description:

This option may be useful if there are several various software products (e.g. accounting and warehouse inventory system) all protected by Guardant dongles. In this case you can bind the applications to the same dongle parameters avoiding, at the same time, the operation of both products with the same dongle.

You need to assign each product a number (for example, electronic accounting will get number 0, warehouse inventory system – number 1) and protect them with /UN option.

Then you need to write 0 into the number field of dongles to be used with the accounting system, and 1 – for the warehouse inventory system. All other protection parameters can be made the same. An application protected in this mode will check for the program number field value, therefore, the enduser will be unable to launch the electronic accounting with the dongle programmed for the operation of the warehouse inventory system and vice versa.

All sold dongles have 0 in the program number field. Therefore you can use this option even if there is just a single software product available at the moment. In the future the number of products may increase and you may not need to worry about the illegal use of the new product by the old clients using this method.

Example:

NwKey32.exe /GS3S /UN=0 mybuh.exe

NwKey32.exe /GS3S /UN=1 mysklad.exe

Calls of Guardant Sign dongle application protection utility are shown here for the example described above.
