License table is a basis of License Management System used in Guardant Net III/Net II/Net network dongles. Its purpose is to monitor and control licenses in multi-module network software.
When license table is used, Guardant Net network software performs two-level license monitoring:
- The total number of application copies or working stations, running the applications simultaneously, is specified by the actual network license limit
- The number of application copies or working stations, using a specific program module, is specified by this module license limit recorded in the license table.
The license table in Guardant Sign Net/ Time Net/ Net III differs from license table of Guardant Net II / Net dongles:
Dongle model | Hardware locks | Location in dongle memory | Working from within the application (Guardant API) |
---|---|---|---|
Guardant Sign Net, Guardant Time Net, Guardant Net III | Read/write locks (protected item) | Between any hardware algorithms/protected items before fields of other types | GrdPI_Activate, GrdPI_Deactivate, GrdPI_Read, GrdPI_Update, GrdLogin, GrdLogout |
Guardant Net II, Guardant Net | Write lock | Strictly after hardware algorithms and before fields of other types | GrdRead, GrdLogin, GrdLogout |
Thus, the license table in Guardant Sign Net/ Time Net/ Net III is a special case of a protected item.
