The end-user generates an update request (number-question) using a special utility and sends it to the developer via any communication channel.

Important information

  1. The remote dongle update procedure for modern Guardant dongles requires Grd-TRU.exe utility at the end-user side. This file should be included into the distribution package of the protected application.
  2. The remote dongle update procedure for out-of-date dongles (Guardant Stealth II/Net II) requires GsRemote.exe utility at the end-user. This file should be included into the distribution package of the protected application.
  3. A dongle with the developer’s access codes must be connected to the computer to ensure successful launch of remote update utility.
  4. If the end-user has several protected applications installed on his computer, only the dongle to be updated must be connected to the port before starting remote update utility.
  5. The information from Remote Update section on working with remote update utility is recommended for including into the end-user’s manual.

Remote update utility is implemented as a wizard containing several pages. Use [Next >] and [< Back] buttons located in the lower part of the window to move between pages.

  1. After the successful launch of a remote update utility, select Create number-question on the first page.

  2. A generated update request (number-question) will appear on the next page. This request represents a sequence of hexadecimal symbols containing the dongle information.

The update request needs to be saved into the file ([Save] button), copied into the clipboard ([Copy] button) or sent by email to the application developer ([Send by e-mail] button). The operation of the utility can be finished ([Finish] button) prior to receiving the update dump-answer from the developer.
